Discover the RS-109M stand-alone AIS transmitter

Now there is no excuse for being invisible on AIS. The RS-109M is a stand-alone battery operated AIS transmitter, used to locate small vessels or fishing gear at sea, and is small enough to fit into your PFD or get strapped to your jet ski or ski boat. It transmits an AIS (Automatic Identification System) signal which is received by vessel mounted and shore based navigation systems and places a trackable target on their MFD chart screen. Use it to

  • warn other traffic about your fishing gear.
  • attach it to navigational aids for clear visibility on chart plotters.
  • attach it to ski boats, sailing vessels and other vessels to show your presence on navigation equipment of surrounding vessels if your vessel has no built-in AIS transmitter
  • keep it in your PFD when paddling surfskis, kayaks, SUPs, jet skis and other personal water craft.
  • keep it on board as a backup (works when your vessel’s power or antenna has failed, e.g. dismasting, blackout due to flooding or fire, etc.)
  • Keep one in your grab bag and take it with you in your life raft!

Fits snug into the back pocket of a Mocke Racing PFD. Activate before getting on the water and show up as an AIS target on chart plotters on NSRI boats and other vessels.

All NSRI boats are fitted with AIS enabled MFD chart plotters. In a rescue scenario where the casualty transmits AIS, they can proceed directly to the casualty without wasting critical time in searching.
